Why Does minecraft lag on my new system?

I had a laptop with and i7-3630qm with a gt 635m and now i build my new pc with an i7-4770k and a XFX R9 270X and it lags on the gaming computer but not the laptop.... i mean its really bad on my gaming computer

I think its an issue with the minecraft software its self. Do a clean install remove any mods you might be using then see what happens.

How much ram do you have in your new rig and how much ram have you allocated to minecraft?

i have 8G and i had 3G allocated

Huh try reinstalling minecraft that might be the issue, do any other game/ programs lag?
