Hi, I was trying to copy some huge files (apx 500gb) from one Hd to a new one (both units were working perfectly before that) but the operation stopped, Windows 7 froze and I had to reset the PC.
Now the previously working HD were I was copying the files disappeared from Windows, it doesn't show neither on Windows, the bios set up or the disk management tool. I checked the sata cables and they are working properly with other HDD. I didn’t have any important data in that disk, I just formatted it before trying the copy process, thus I am more interested in recovering the functionality than the data.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm sad to hear of the news, please ensure the warranty is long expired before chucking the drive otherwise you can submit for RMA.

I will assume the drive in question is an internal HDD? If so, you may want to boot with an Ubuntu live disk and go from there. If you are able to read the HDD contents or at least mount the drive in question, then delete the drive and repartition via the Ubuntu live disk. Once partitioned and formatted, boot from Windows 7 go to Disk Management and check for the drive and if required partition/format from there.

Hope this helps.

Please ensure that you do not format/partition the system drive or your system will not boot up. Use the live disk to mount and view the drives. If the drive in question is not mounting, then you may need to remove the drive and place it into an enclosure or into another system to verify operability as there is a chance that the drive itself is toast.

Just finished trying with the enclosure, unfortunately I had no luck, this HDD is gone for good, lucky me it was just the hardware without any data.
Elmo2006 thank you for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it.
Regards
