I have a motherboard thet only supports dual channel memory and has 4 dimm slots will 2 2 dimm sets in dual channel work.

Will 4 sticks of RAM work in dual channel? Assuming they're all the same speed and specs then yes.

Best to get a single package of 4 sticks, no guarantee two packages will play together (which is also why a 4 stick set cost a bit more - all four are tested to play nice with each other)
