Just finishing the build on my first computer. Whatever I have tried I cannot get the BIOS to see the WD HDD. My mushkin 240 GB SSD is working fine. Hardware: ASUS P8 Z77 V-Pro MB, 16 G RAM, EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2 GB, Corsair HX 750 PSU, Corsair H80i cooler. I have plugged the HDD into everything, changed cables, yes, tried using the cables/ connection at MB that works on SDD and tried booting and no HDD is seen. THe only thing I haven't tried is making an avocado bacon cheeseburger for it. Any ideas before I RMA this or have i just a DOA HDD? Yes, sata cnxn, 6.0 G

ACHI set in SATA, not raid. I even tried RAID once. And first used BIOS that the MB came with, then upgraded to most current ASUS BIOS. Still had no luck. Sorry that I didn't say that before. The cheeseburger option no good I spose

I took a hard drive outta my current computer, Window's xp, and was able to feel some vibration and it did come up there (didn't look in BIOS). 0 space I'm guessing since it wasn't yet formatted but it did come up as drive E. So now i'm guessing it is working . Changed cables again and I feel it vibrate in the new build but BIOS doesn't see it nor does windows.

I have been doing a lot more research and found that I could see the drive in Windows 8.1 with disc management. I used mbr, labeled and formatted and now have 1.8 T free. So it's working. I am guessing that I won't get a full 2T storage
