Amd fx 4170 going to 200C!

I have an and fx 4170 overheating by a lot, when gaming and sometimes when idle the load will go up to full and the CPU will go up to 200 degrees!

Things I have tried are:-

- factory reset
- replace heatsink therml paste
- I have tried speccy and core temp for the readings, both the same.

This causes a lot of lag in game and happens frequently.

What should I do?

If your processor is up at 200c, it should have fried, as well as your motherboard. What software are you using to monitor your temps?

Speccy and core temps, it goes up to 255 which is a software bug... But I don't know how tp solve it.

Or the sensor has failed. Is it constant 200C?

I think the sensor is broken. As said above, your PC would be shutting down or the chip would be dead by now. TMPIN0 is your socket temp, usually higher than your core temp, and has a max of 70C. I think TMPIN1 is your motherboard temp and it's quite high though.

Edit: your temps do look way out of sorts - I say bad sensor.

It was doing it before, so I took off the cooler, wiped away the paste them applied a line of new thermal paste, its spiking more than anything.

Wiped it down? Did you use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free material to ensure you got rid of everything?

Yes I did, also the method used shouldnt affect the degrees by that much.

I normally use the pea method but I went for line as it seems more reliable.

I also noticed that your +12V seems very low... There could potentially be a PSU problem too, unless I'm missing something.
