Hi guys, im new as in this is my first post so please forgive any error such as posting in the wrong category.

Down to business, So i just replaced the mobo in my pc, The ram and the CPU. So essentially i had to rebuild the pc. I had help from my brother who has successfully built 2 gaming PC's. When we finished the build all the mobo lights went on, The fans all spun the case lights and fans were on but no display on my monitor.

New mobo-MSI GD65V2 990FXA AM3+
New CPU- AMD FX8320 AM3+
New Ram- Pny DDR3 1066mhz 2x4gb
Psu- 650watt (dont remeber brand details)
Gpu- I actually tested multiple gpus that all work which are GT240 and MSI 7870OC
Cooler- CM hyper 212 evo

The trouble shooting i have already done
-checked that all essential cables were pugged in
-Used different gpu's in different slots
-held the pwr button for 60 seconds while unplugged
-reseated the cpu
-Completely took everything apart and rebuilt

I have no spare cpu ram or PSU to test. What confuses me: The lights and fans of everything spin so that makes me think its not a bad PSU (especially because i used the psu before like a week ago). The mobo lights all turn on and all fans that plug into the mobo spin this makes me think that its not MOBO related (Not sure just my guess). I have used multiple gpu's that i know for a fact work and all in each pcie slot.

(additional info that may help)
My friend got an fx8350 and tried to put it in an am3 board and it supossedly did this to him.
But this confuses me because i have a 990fx am3+ board.

I understand that these issues are so broad and have endless possibilities so it may be hard to help.
I have done research and have yet to find a solution that worked for me. There always is the possibility of a dead part which scares me
The local Tigerdirect near me can repair it i would imagine but it would cost about 300 dollars =/ which i am not going to or even able to spend

*EDIT* When i press the power button sometimes the fans and lights will spin for a second then shut off. Then when pressed again nothing happens. This is fixed by me unplugging the PSU cord and turning it off and holding the power button for a minute. Then the fans will spin and lights will come on but no display. Just thought that might be some important info

Ill try to do these steps as soon as i can and give feedback. However at the moment im thinking i may need a bios update. Not sure if or why they would ship an old bios version but im not sure what to do if thats the case.
Anyway though thanks for the quick reply fingers crossed that this will help when i try these steps

Did you install your RAM correctly? I had the same exact problem and it was due to my RAM not being seated right. Open the clasps and seat in the RAM by pushing it in, this requires force. The clasps on the side should snap up once the RAM is in, don't even touch the clasps while you're reseating (except for the beginning).

Alright guys. I took it to a buddy of mine who does computer repair and building who is much more experienced than me. He tried everything short of replacing the ram and motherboard. So he and i both believe that i either have a dead mobo or incompatible ram so i suppose this thread isnt much use anymore, however i wont close it until i get it up and running and can give what the problem exactly was
