Hi,

I have MSI Z87 MPower mobo + Intel 4770K + Crucial Ballistix Elite (DDR3-1866).

However, the latest MSI BIOS (1.7) says DRAM Freq = 1333 MHZ.

Please help me investigate/fix this.

Thank you

Well, coming from 8 GB laptop memory, I think the ram is ultra fast. copying big files is a breeze...not a multi-talented hardware/software guru like yourself but I am pretty content with this choice of memory. I see you are using a very high frequency memory, I read somewhere that anything above 1866 is not really beneficial (cost wise) as of now..true? Also 32GB of ram? lol running a server of some sort? Even our DB servers are 16-18 GB in sizes...lol

Do a lot of DRAM intensive projects, normally have an OS or two running in a VM (like Win8 and often another copy of Win 7 for testing and providing support, do some software eval work, video, imaging, CAD, GIS, etc.........depending I often set a RAMDisk for different things....As far as high freq and large amounts, it's all in what you do, you can often 'see'' a difference in DRAM freq even if you are simply doing a lot of multi-tasking
