I'm looking for a way to connect to my Netgear R6300v2 router. I have recently built my new PC. I tried out the Trendnet AC1200, but was not satisified. I was wondering what you guys think i should do? Would you reccomend a USB wireless network adapter or should i get the ASUS wireless adapter that goes into the PCI slot? Or should I get a network bridge? Thanks in advance guys!

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. You likely will never get anywhere near these magic speeds. If you can get a say 300m when you test from wireless to a ethernet cables device you are doing about average. You have to almost put the computer on top of the router to get the 800m or whatever is possible in theory.

I would first try a USB extension cable with your current adapter and see if you can get better placement in the room. 802.11ac only runs on 5g and it tends to be blocked very easy and the ability to get 2 signals to run mimo also tends to be blocked more easily on 5g.

Not real sure about that particular adapter. It uses a different chipset than most 802.11ac cards. It appears to only work at its highest...

Most the problems people have with 802.11ac are not so much the standard but the fact it only runs on 5g and there is so much signal loss with 5g.
