Hey guys I was hoping you could help me figure out what's happening here, I have been trying for hours to get my raid controller to detect my drives(or even one)

Raid controller is a Highpoint RocketRaid 2720SGL

Cables used

HDD(WD RED 3TBx4)

I must be doing something severely wrong because I have tried 2 different cards in 2 different slots with 4 different cables(Same make/model) I have tried formatting the drives to ntfs in both MBR and GPT with no luck detecting any of the drives in the bios utility for the card, tried it in the webgui through windows too and no drives detected, I can't think of any reason it won't detect it unless I have the wrong cable? anyway just hoping you guys can help point me in the right direction, thanks!

Note: All these parts are brand new and from what I can tell both controllers are showing in bios utility and in windows to be working fine, and all the drives have been tested in another computer and appear to be working. I'm thinking maybe I need to format them a certain way for the card to detect? or I bought the wrong kind of cable? anyway thanks in advance for any help!

Computer specs are as follows
i5-4570
16GB G skill Ares 1866 ram
MSI z87 board(G55 I belive)
System disk Kingston HyperX 240GB

I think you bought the wrong breakout cable.
This is the description on Newegg's website:

I'm pretty sure you need to search for a SFF-8087 to SATA breakout cable.
Here's an example of one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816115064

I'm far from an expert on this so you might want to wait for a couple of more responses to verify if I'm correct.
