When will it die? I have been (I would like to say patiently... but I am at my wits' end) waiting since November for an AMD R9 290 and with the recent announcement of the Sapphire Tri-X Cooler, I am just DYING to lay my hands upon one of these beasts. However, this ridiculous price spike has me out of range by hundreds of dollars. One selling point of this card was affordability... $400-450 is PERFECT for competitive pricing. But then the whole craze of cryptocurrency exploded (which I have vowed to never become a part of. Sure it sounds very tempting, but if it causes this much annoyance for me, I would NEVER wish this upon another gamer) and retailers have commenced price gouging. Is there ANY end in sight? Running a 1440p display will not be feasible with this integrated HD 4600 I am running in the meantime. However, do not recommend any Nvidia card. I have considered them but I want AMD's price and power setup. I just do not have the money to spend on a 780 or 780ti. The 770 and 280x do not cut it, and the 290 just seems PERFECT for my needs. If you guys have any idea or helpful advice/comment, it would be appreciated immensely. Thank you in advance and have a happy New Year~!

I honestly view it as a Money pit for that vast majority of "Miners"
Its SEVERELY Annoying.

Seems like your between a rock and a hard place o.0

I just want GPUs to become useless for mining, How CPUs are now.

Well no, evidently you do NOT want AMDs price setup or else you would just buy the card at its current price.

Perhaps I am not extremely wealthy, oh powerful and mighty and wise and affluent Deuce. I need to save money for other things and Nvidia won't help anymore than AMD will right now. Whichever one drops back into my range will be my best friend. Or perhaps you are an Nvidia fanboy~! :) Fanboyism, so sad.
