I guys I am trying to build a a budget gaming pc build that is $350 CAD. Now I am wondering if it is good idea to pour my money into a good pour and a cheap dual/quad core processor or should get a APU. If you guys have a build or a idea of a build please see if you can find the parts on NCIX.ca as I live close to the Langley store and hope to pick the stuff up from there.
(BTW. I am considering getting the AMD 5800k since it is on sale for $109. I also forgot to mention I have a old AMD ASUS Radeon 9000 seris Graphics card that I could use and a 600 watt OCZ PSU)

Best bet is to go:

-FM2 Mobo
-Athlon II x4 7xx
-HD 7770

Put a build together and we will go from there...

How about this....though it surpasses the budget by a bit, it will blow away any APU in gaming performance and will be similar in cpu tasks.

Plus it has ample storage and premimum components for the price.

The sad truth is 4GB of ram is really not good enough anymore. 8GB will last you a good 5+ years though...

I would second ayus suggestion of picking up the athlon x4 7xxk (APU w/o the graphics) with an FM2+ motherboard preferably. With FM2+ you can always upgrade to the next iteration of AMD APU's/Athlons. If you want a system to enjoy gaming without all the fuss, I'd definitely go with that.

Personally, I'd pick A-10 5800k if you can afford it. Cheers and good luck.

If you can afford an Athlon + 7770, do it! Otherwise an APU is your only option. Remember that AMD's Kavari comes out in just 2 weeks so you should really wait till then...
