GTX 780 or the GTX 780 Ti for 1920x1080?

Is the extra $200 worth it for the Ti? I plan on playing at 1920x1080, so how will games handle at that resolution on maxed out settings? Also, whichever one you consider is worth it, which model is the best for the GTX 780 / Ti?

No, not really. It will handle extremely well it's actually a bit overpowered for 1080p. I'd say EVGA superclocked 780 is best for 780.

780 Ti all the way, Has 2880 cuda cores vs 2306 (around that) on the GTX 780. The GTX 780 Ti has a bandwidth of 336GB/s vs 288GB/s on the GTX 780, I think paying the extra for the GTX 780 Ti is worth the difference as games get more graphic intense like they are, you will get to the point where you will clearly see a difference. That said the 780Ti has a great overclcoking capability getting to 1250Mhz on it's stock cooler quite easily, that is something, going for the other cooled models can go even further.

He's running at 1080p. He could buy a 770 for 1080p that would max out any game. Besides there is no noticable difference between 60 fps vs lets say 120 fps. It's been scientifically proven.

780ti. No hard feelings n ppl say its overkill but dere no such thing as overkill.the next gen game engines are getting brtual on the gpus. Ex wud be upcoming watchdogs the division n metal gear solid.

Nikita787> 60fps are you kidding the human eye can't even tell anything over 30fps unless your some hardcore sniper who can actually see the difference which is hardly anyone. 120fps......don't even go there. 60Hz is 30fps, 120Hz is 60 fps, 120fps a monitor will barely touch that.

Exactly, Once the Games get much more intense there will be a clear difference between them. Worth it if the OP isn't going to upgrade for a few years

I doubt that. 780 for 1080p vs 780 ti. You won't even notice the difference.

Games like Crysis 3 for example, that is a test of time for all modern day single GPU's, as these extreme graphic intense games get more intense like they are, The GTX 780 Ti will start to shine over the GTX 780 as it's FPS will be higher and the OC capabilities of the GTX 780 Ti is insane. It just depends on how long the OP decides to keep this card for, anything over 1.5 years the 780 Ti will outperform, even at 1080p. Spending the amount of money the OP is spending is obviously saying he is going to have this card for a long time and if you buy one you might as well go for the best possible to get the most performance out of it.

Yes, but you wont notice the difference. There is no point in shelling out 200 dollars when you wont even notice the difference. I can play almost every game maxed out on my r9 270x at 1080p.

right now 780ti is the king... if you had a choice between a king or a knight which one would you choose? op be the judge & yes there a diff between the 780 & 780ti at 1080 p...u guys need to check toms review on that.

Let me put this to you: There ARE going to be games next year that will push even the best of single GPU graphics cards, And cards are never consistent with frame rates, they may have good averages but the fps always peaks and dips to lows in some games with not the best driver support and games with good driver support. With the better GPU, in this case the GTX 780 Ti, this can achieve a better overall max fps in games with the peak and dips also higher, when the cards go into these low fps ranges (which may only be a few milliseconds) you WILL notice it and therefore the 780 Ti performance will be noticed. Though these really low fps don't happen all that often the suffering on the 780 Ti will be less and more often then not be above at least 25-30 fps in stuttering moments. Reviews have shown that the 780 Ti beats the GTX 780 in BF4 all in Ultra on 1080p, Due to the GTX 780 Ti's driver is better as a factor, The GTX 780's driver had some problems with it which is still effecting it's performance in some games today.

Yes, and with the GTX 780 Ti, a while compared to the GTX 780 will be noticeable. Just because it's 1080p doesn't mean that the card will never struggle because it will, and when it does the 780 Ti will be the better performer
