I'm really confused here. I was almost ready and set to buy a gtx 770. Then i was looking around the forum and reading about the radeon hd 280x. then the person said the 7970 is better. Which one is better, the gtx 770, 280x, or the hd 7970? Also, how good is XFX?

I would personally go with a MSI 770 but xfx is fine. The 280x and 770 are very even, they trade blows depending on who the game is optimized for but averaging it all out the 770 is better.

I avoid XFX cards like its a plague. The 7970 is practically the same as the R9 280X, but if you're buying in the US their prices are ridiculously high or simply out of stock. They are on par with the GTX 770.
