Motherboard LEDs Flash Red But Good Post Beep

Hey there everyone. So I'm in a pickle here. I recently got a new motherboard (Asus P8Z77 -V Pro) and a new CPU (i5-3570k) so a system rework was needed. I used these new parts coupled with the old parts from my last build:

- 2 x 4 GB G.Skill Ripjaw RAM
- Radeon HD 1 GB 7850
- Seasonic m12II 620W PSU
- 1 TB WD Caviar Black HDD
- And some generic DVD writer I can't remember the name of offhand.

Now here's my problem. I set this thing up without the optical drive and HDD just to see if it would start, and when I press the power button on my case something really weird happens. The VGA LED, CPU LED, and MEMORY LED on the motherboard all flash red at me (which is bad), BUT I get that beautiful one beep post-beep from the little speaker I have plugged into the header.

From what I know about computers that one beep should basically be a ray of light shining down on your computer letting you know everything is good. However, I get those red LED's. Suprisingly, even though I get the red lights the components all work and respond when I power up the system.

So I did the usual, checked for bent pins, tested one stick of RAM at a time, removed the video card, but still I get the red lights and that one beep. So I'm left with either plugging the thing into a monitor (which I havn't done yet) and seeing what it tells me, OR just putting it all together and boot off of the optical drive to install windows 7 and see how it goes from there.

Maybe those lights are flashing at me because I don't have the drivers for the components yet? I have no idea. So anyway, any help with this really wierd problem would be appreciated.

Solution
I think the lights flash because they are looking for "ok" signal responses immediately, and POST hasn't gotten to the point where all the signals are where they need to be. If there really was a problem, the led(s) would stay on and you would probably get some type of beep code. Wouldn't be surprised if everything is normal when you look at the results on a monitor and you see nothing wrong.

Solution
Yes, as stated above, the LEDs flash as the system tests the main components (CPU, memory..). If OK, then the led goes off. If an error occurs, then the led stays on, signaling the issue. For example, remove all RAM modules, start the board and you'll see that the memory led remains red and you'll get 1 long 2 short beeps.
Just go ahead. All's fine.
