I am having trouble with my mobo lately and looking to replace it. I can't figure out what's going on with mine. So I am looking for a mobo+cpu combo under $350. I have been told I should try the Intel boards out this time instead of AMD. Any help and recommendations would be highly appreciated. I am also hoping I could still use my graphics card I already have. It's an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.. Thanks in advance for any help.

for gaming, I'd recommend an i5. Also realize that if you change your mobo/cpu (especially from AMD to Intel) you will most probably have to buy a new OS (unless you bought the "full" retail version for the original build).

If you have the "Full" retail version it should have come with both the Windows 7 32-bit disk and a Windows 7 64-bit disk. If you didn't have both, you more than likely have an OEM version.

Would anyone recommend the Asus Maximus V Formula, LGA 1155, Intel Motherboard? I know I said under $350 but I'd be willing to splurge a little and then just buy the processor a couple weeks later if I needed.

Its doesn't worth it to take such a good mobo with this GPU.
