Hi recently I got a New ASUS Geforce GTX 760 to replace my old 550 TI.
However I find that in some causes my games now perform worse or the same as before. I would like to know if this is because of my CPU or just driver issues. I will list my PC specs below and games im having issues with

Games

Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012
Assassins Creed IV Black Flag (towns lag while ship battles are usually ok)
Battlefield 3 (Running at medium below 30 FPS)
Sim City (lags a bit no matter the quality leading me to believe it is the CPU)

Specs

OS: Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit

CPU and Motherboard: Asus M4A88T-V EVO USB3 Motherboard and AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Quad Core CPU Bundle

RAM: Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM - PC10666, 1333MHz, 4096MB

Case: XION Vantage Mid-Tower Case AXP100-001BK - ATX, mATX

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro Power Supply - 600-Watt, Modular, Dual +12V Rails, SATA, 80Plus

well yes, 955BE is not strong enough to deliver data to your graphic card..

it's time to overclock..3.8-4 GHz is the sweetest spot of deneb core..

or actually your motherboard support piledriver with simply bios update..
upgrading your processor is the best option, at least with fx6300 you'll see a significant performance boost of your fps rate..

what would you say is the best option for a motherboard under $200 dollars with an AM3+ socket as you can see the fx6300 is AM3+ while my current Motherboard is AM3

Also would AMD Overdrive AutoClock help at all?

Thanks for your help but I think I found the solution.
I was thinking maybe a CPU upgrade or even overclocking would help. Then I noticed I only had 3 cores displayed on dxdiag and CPU-Z. So I opened my BIOS and sure enough core 3 was disabled for some reason.

Everything is now running smooth
