hello
i have a laptop lenovo g500 with intel b960 4gb ram and radeon hd 8570m 1gb.i dont know how to tell you but i cant play any game on it,gpu usage is very low like 50-60% on modern warfare 3.my gaming graphics score is 5.7(6.4 had my old laptop with hd 6470m).for example when running test drive unlimited on 1366 by 768 on high i have only 30 fps and gpu usage is 64%.i just dont know what to do because enduro is working,on device manager is showing me the video card but the video card is performing so bad.
i have been fighting for over 2 months with this video card so i think i had enough.
thank you all.

Hi man. First of all remove your driver from AMD site and get the one from Lenovo website. 2. Make sure you have added your game in switchable graphics on high performance. 3 Open EnergyCut and select High Performance( don't keep your laptop on power save or some shit like this, unless is running on battery). If you have MSI Afterburning, open it and see if your hd 8570m is listed there, then make a few tests to see if your gpu. is used 100% ( you should see that on the right pane) .If none of this will solve the problem , get Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and all drivers from Lenovo website and i promise you that games will run much much smoother. Good luck !

I have been using the same graphics card on my lenovo G500 with the latest available drivers and i am more than satisfied with its performance. I have been playin Assassins creed 3,max payne 3, prototype 2 on med settings and cod Ghost at low settings eventhough all the sites say tat my hardware cant run it. So I guess ur facing a Hardware issue. Give it for service that will solve it. I would consider g500 as the best gamming laptop in its price range

These 2 points clearly indicate what is happening. You are facing a CPU bottleneck. There is no issue with the 8570m.

That is a low performance CPU, with an old (2011) sandy bridge core,no hyper threading, and only 2MB of cache. Definitely NOT a gaming CPU!!
Your CPU is holding the GPU back. There's nothing you can do about it. That is also why, other people having 8570m's but with a better processor (atleast an i3), don't have the issues you are facing.

Hi!

I have the same laptop (lenovo g500), and had the same problem. Full screen, low fps on win 8.1.
What I have found:
- if you put your games to windowed mode, they generally will be faster.
- also on some titles it helps, if you enable x2 AA on full screen. (strange, generally enabling antialaising will slow games down)

The third thing I found was to set the compatibility mode to windows 7 and it will run in full screen on normal speed.

But the latest thing I have discovered yesterday is if you remove the Lenovo driver and install the latest AMD driver (from amd.com) then it will not only work, but everything will be faster even in full screen!

Here is the drivers version you should get:
Driver packaging version: 14.10.1006-140417a-171098C
Cataclyst version: 14.4
2D driver version: 8.01.01.1390
Direct 3D version: 9.14.10.01029
OpenGL version: 6.14.10.12874
AMD cataclyst control center version: 2014.0417.2226.38446
