Hey there,

this is more of a technical question which I couldn´t really find an answer to by using google.
So, I understand what the resolution scale does. Now I have been reading a lot that people see this more as an alternative to AA instead of an addition.
I just don´t see the connection between these. Could anyone enlighten me?

Solution
If you increase the resolution scale the game will render at a higher resolution then scale it down to fit your screen. Rendering at a higher resolution helps prevent the same jagged lines that anti aliasing will deal with. Imagine this on a smaller scale - if you try to draw a box in a 10x10 grid of pixels it will have more jagged edges than if you sis the same in a 20x20 grid of pixels. Resolution scale essentially works the same as that.
