Hi All,

Hope this is in the right place.....

I am about to rebuild my PC and I have a question. Is an SSD really worth it? I have limited funds and would the £70 for a 128GB SSD I had in mind be better spent on a better GPU as I am a gamer?

I have had an MSI Z87 - G45 for charismas and a i5 4670K.

I have about £350-£400 to spend on other upgrades and was going to do a new HDD, a new PSU (as mine is a 550w HIS 3rys old) I am ready to buy the bits but am now torn between an SSD and a R9 270x or no SSD and a GTX 770 (as R9 280x are out of stock or stupidly expensive!)

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Will

If i was in your position, i would probably buy the 770. i could live with things taking about 5 seconds longer to open, compared with a massive frame rate increase, while knowing i can get a SSD along the line and have both upgrades, instead of settling for a lesser GPU just so i boot faster in the meantime.
