I am using windows 7 ultimate..The search function of the start menu was working fine in my pc...But since last week, whenever i click on start menu, and then search for any program in it,then no search results are displayed in the start menu...Please give me a solution for this problem as soon as possible....

Try deleting the file shown here in bold lettering:
C\Users\<your account name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\1033\StructuredQuerySchema.bin
C\Users\<your account name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\1033\StructuredQuerySchema.bin
