Dell Dimension 8400 question marks in Device Manager, device drivers not installed, can't connect to internet with wireless

I sudenly lost connction to the internet; looked at Device Manager and saw all question marks for Ethernet, PCI, etc. I am using wireless to connect through a Verizon DSL. I reinstalled the driver for the Belkin USB and can't connect. All the devices in that category had the question mark. I reinstalled the network driver but still can't connect. What could have happened to these devices? All the components that would seem to be using these device are working, e.g., video, etc. Are the two issues connected?

  1. Right click the device -> click uninstall & check the "delete drivers" box -> reboot -> re-install the latest drivers
