I'm a first time builder and I plan to buy these parts because I did quite a bit of research into things like psus and gpus (not so much for cases and the like). I'm planning to use this for a lot of games like Skyrim with graphical improvement mods and Batman: Arkham City, running at around 60-90 fps 1080p and verh high or ultra graphics.

Feel free to suggest any better parts as I'm a complete noob, but I would like to keep the system under £800.

Thanks in advance!

Edit:Should I add an SSD and should I buy an aftermarket cpu fan or just use the intel one in the box (I know it's ghetto but it would help me keep the system under £800 by cutting out thermal paste and the cpu cooler)

Hey mate,

Just like you I wanted to build my first machine and now I'm nearly finished here's my specs;

Intel I7-4930k
Gtx770 gigabyte 4gb OC
Asrock x79 extreme9
7200rpm 2TB hdd
120gb Samsung Evo ssd (for OS)
And 32gb 1333mhz ram (remember faster ram doesn't really yield higher performance outside of photo/video editing)
All in a Thermaltake mk1 chaser case tuning of a thermaltake 750W psu (true wattage is 950)

I think it cost me roughly $2000-$2500 so I dunno about £1100+ (I'm Australian)

Go with this build the processor is a very good processor that runs any game at 1080p * note it costs less then your picked i5-3570k but it's better than that processor , its ranked 63th out of 600.000+ processors http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ here is the site i got the rankings from ;this processor comes from the High end CPU chart

*The graphics card is one of the best High end graphics card it's ranked 12th out of 600.000+ video cards http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ here is the site i got the ranking from , this card is coming from the high end video card chart

*2 modules for your ram is always faster then 1

+ you get a sexy case ;D

Good luck with your build/choice

Lol the i7 are overpriced you could get a amd which is a tiny bit worse for half the price
the 32gb ram is useless..

won't be able to afford this just yet, so ill need to save for a while but hopefully it won't take too long :D

only problem is that the mobo is pci e 2.0 and the gpu is pci e 3.0?

Amd really? I'm hearing this again, I'm not just gaming, i do a lot of programming and i like to do video and photo editing hence the extra ram as well as the computer might be set up as a media centre. But back to the AMD vs intel I picked up the 4930k for $659 Australian, the new AMD FX that runs at 5ghz stock has 8 cores, doesn't have hypertreading! The single core performance is that of a i3 and the performance across 2-4 cores is not much better, for gaming it's just a tad behind the 4930k and is more expensive.... Outside of gaming you will see horrible performance in everything else.... Sorry mate but I wouldn't touch one unless I wanted to build a rig for gaming only and nothing else but still I'd probably go with an intel 1155 socket chip anyways

Hi - Looks good - A couple points;
You have an OC CPU, but a non OC mobo, I suggest you keep the i5 3570k & try to get a "Z" series mobo, and then in turn get 2x4g RAM instead of 1x8g. (Most mobo's support dual channel.

So, consider a mobo such as:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/mr/cclonline/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz77hd3

and RAM:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/mr/amazonuk/corsair-memory-cmz8gx3m2a1600c9

Both these changes will keep your build under £800

thanks, didn't know the mobo was non oc, I just assumed it was

and why the 2x4gb sticks? I thought 1x8gb stick would work just as well, if not better???

*Case is up to you to change. just turn compatible mode on on pcpartpicker

There won't be any noticeable diff in speed (most folks say dual ch is faster), but the memory controller
is dual channel and if stcik goes bad at some point, you still have a working PC with the other stick.

Also, I didn't mention it, but the Corsair RM series PSU's is marketed as enthusiast level (step up from budget level),
but they are using budget level caps in the secondary filtering stage.

For the money you are spending on that PSU you can probably get a true step up from budget level.

Such as:
