Hi people, I am brand new to this forum and starting to get my feet wet with PC's again. I used to be chest deep in the 8088 days, but slowly faded away as race cars and girls showed up :).

Now my 12 year old son has gone ahead and purchased his own computer here is what he purchased.....
.Model No HP COMPAQ elite 8000 Desktop
Processor Intel Core2 Duo 3.0 GHz
Memory 4GB DDR3 Memory
Hard Drive 250 GB SATA
Optical Drive DVD Burner
Network Integrated 10/10/1000 Ethernet LAN
HDMI No
Card Reader No
OS/Software
Windows 7 Professional
Graphics Integrated

Now he purchased to play some 3D game DayZ. The system wouldn't play smoothly, without lagging. So he went and purchased Sapphire 7770 card to compensate for the onboard card. I'm starting to realize that this is going down the same road as my race car, you replace one main item but need to replace an additional 3 or 4 smaller items in order for the original upgrade to work.
We have discovered that the psu of only 300w is insufficient, so today we are heading out to purchase this upgrade. We have found a Ultra 650w for $30 to use. Ok?

So my question is, will the sapphire 7770 work ok with this system and are there any other items required in order to play this game smoothly.

Thank you guys in advance for your help.

Shawn

Actually changed a couple of minor things regarding to what he actually has. It is a hp 8000 elite 3.0 ghz if that matters. One question tho regarding psu change.....what does the pwrcmd, a white 6 pin connector do coming from the original psu?

Thx
