how to update windows 8

hi guys i just buy a new asus laptop and i have installed windows 8 os ,........................

now whats the main problem is i cant update apps in windows 8...........

when i command as install updates it still goes on loading but no action takes place...................

even i change the settings as download and install updates and let me choose whether to download and install them.......................................

plz....give a solution guys..............................

Open up your charms menu and search for the Windows Store (Green icon).
Once open, right-click in an empty space and click 'My Apps' when the option appears.
If any apps need updating, it will tell you there, and you can choose to update all.
Let it run it's course as it can take a few hours depending on your connection speed.

If that fails, run Windows Update.
