I have been trying to get this to work for about an hour now, but cant seem to get it since I have never done it before (just didn't have the need for it).

My headphones under the control panel/sound seem to be set to use the front 3,5mm jack on my computer, however for some reason my microphone doesn't get detected on the front jack. What I want to do is set the headphones to use the rear headphone jack (green one) instead of the front jack.

The speakers however have 4 different jacks specified even though they use only one. Like I mentioned above I have never done this and don't have the slightest idea why there are 4 different jacks specified.

Here are some screens I made to clarify what i want to do.

Speaker: http://postimg.org/image/ec2mgu9q5/

So in short, if it's possible I want the rear 3.5mm jack thats specified under the speaker to be used by the headphones instead of the front 3.5mm jack.

If you are just using headphones(and not speakers), plug them into green and it should work fine. Use pink for the mic and all should be good.

I have not used any via cards as of late so am not sure if they have a software package, but if they do, you may be able to re-map ports to do anything you want. Either way, green is normally speaker/headphone and pink is mic on almost all cards.

Well thats the problem I know that I can use green and pink for a headset but I want to use my headset to talk to friends and at the sametime to have ingame sounds on my speakers. I have the speakers plugged in to the white rear jack at the moment and they work fine, but I cant seem to get the green rear jack to be used by the headphones.

The VIA audio deck detects them and are shown as "Headset" under the playback, but they don't work since the front jack is specified not the rear. The front jack works but the front microphone jack doesn't so i can have only headphones or only the microphone working at the same time because the microphone cable is too short to reach from the front pannel to the back.

Ok, I seem to have gotten the front pannel to detect both the mic and the headphones. To say the least I don't know if i should feel stupid for not trying this before. For some reason the version of VIA HD audio deck I have installed apperently has an error where if you tick the option "Enable front pannel jack detection" acctualy means "Disable front pannel jack detection". And when I looked ower the options this seemed to be enabled and didn't think nothing of it, I guess I was lucky to go mess around that option to figure out that the tickbox was working the oposite way.

This is the only option to have a reversed way of indicating when the option is Enabled/Disabled than the others on the same menu so I guess that this is a bug or something. The only thing I had to do was untick the option box and the frontpannel microphone and headphones were automatically detected.

Well anyway thanks for all the suggestions.
