Hi there,
I'm looking to be playing games such as ARMA 3, DayZ, and Battlefield 4 on my pc.
I'm thinking of upgrading my system whilst the components are in the sales.
Specs:( I am currently out of my country with my pc so these specs are what I can remember)

1 tb HDD
Quad core i5 2320 ( I think it's the 2320)
Nvidia gtx 650 1GB
GIGABYTE H77
Generic Kingston 8GB RAM
The PSU is either corsair 500W, 600W or 650W
And a cooler master CPU cooler

I am heavily considering a GPU upgrade to get the GTX 760 2GB

What do you guys think?
Please can we try and get some quick answers please, sorry about rushing, it's just that I'm leaving soon and will need to make my decision soon!
Many thanks in advance

I think it's a solid upgrade, very solid actually. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you, if I had the money to spare. It also seems as if your components are compatible. A 500 watt PSU of great quality can easily run the GTX 760. However, Nvidia recommends a PSU of 600 watt with 30 AMPs on the 12V rail, so make sure you got enough juice in your PSU.

Have a look at these performance charts:

As you can see, your current GTX 650 only has 37% performance of the GTX 760. It's such a big step to upgrade your GPU and I can assure you that you will be able to play all the latest games! :)

So should I go for an AMD card? BF4 isn't going to be my only game, but I was aiming for something around the price of the 760, but it looks like I could push a little higher given the the 770 is at £260 and the r9 280x is £240
Which way should I go?

Most higher end 7000 series + R7 + R9 series cards are a bit overpriced because of litecoin miners buying out AMD cards, but if you can get a 280x for 300$ then do it, otherwise you're paying significantly more than the MSRP. I wish I could say with certainty prices will go down in ~ 2 weeks or less, but no one really knows the situation. Ebay is starting to show people selling used cards under MSRP and not wayyyy over like a couple weeks ago, and most AMD cards are in stock now, so it looks like the demand for them will be dropping.
