Hi, I'm almost done building my PC, there's this little speaker wire thing that I don't know where to plug in. Please somebody help me ASAP. This is the thing:

Solution
That board supports a wired gigabit ethernet connection. Unless your network card does something fancy beyond letting you connect to the internet, you shouldn't need it.

That's a piezo buzzer. It makes irritating noises, and adds no real functionality to your PC :p
But seriously there should be a header on your motherboard. It probably won't even be used unless your mobo cant post and needs to tell you why (Google bios beep codes)

Your motherboard has one already i this is a spear. I have like 3 of these lying around in my parts box. You dont need it.

Where it plugs in exactly depends on the motherboard you have, but they generally plug into a header to the left of the spot where you plug in the wires for the power switch, HDD LED indicator light, etc. This speaker is optional and you don't really need it, so if it's stressing you out, just put it back in the box :)

Let me know what model your board is and i can show exactly where to plug this in.

well I read a topic on this forum that says I won't be able to troubleshoot problems if they occur at all. If its possible I would like to plug it in, it won't hurt the system. My motherboard is GA-F2A88XM-DS2 Micro-ATX, so I would really appreciate it if somebody could point out where it's supposed to be plugged in

Yeah, I have connected the AC'97 audio connector there. By the way, I have an AC'97 and an HD Audio connector. Did I do the right thing by plugging the AC'97 audio connector in F_Audio and leaving the HD Audio connector unplugged?

Alright, thanks. Yeah, I have a paper manual here as well. I read through it and couldn't find anything related to system speaker. That's why I came here for help. Well, if that's the case, I guess the MB has an onboard speaker so I don't need this one. Final question though - Do I need a network card or does my motherboard already have one? I have a network card but when I plug it in it's blocking airflow to my graphic card's fan so I don't really want to use it.

I'm also finding nothing about a place to plug in the speaker/buzzer. After reading through specs and visually inspecting the board, i don't see a header or a built-in buzzer, which leads me to conclude the error code would be posted on-screen. I have an MSI board that does this, and it's much nicer than counting beeps for sure :)
