I'm not the best with computers and i'm looking for a solution to this.

I have a Acer Aspire
AM3450 AMD FX 6100-3.30GHZ 2TB 8GB DDR3 Radeon HD6570 Windows 7 Home 64BIT

Randomly the computer fans seem to kick into overdrive then the computer will shutdown or black screen like its on stand by. (black screen but light and fans are still on)
I wiggled the power connection into the mother board and it turned back on ( this works but sometimes the mouse and keyboard wont work)

I pulled the connection off and it seems that two of the four prongs are black (Burnt).

My question is if its the motherboard or just the connection?

Is there an easy fix?

Thanks

Its short circuiting, there is no easy fix i think so you will have to replace the motherboard.

If one thing isnt working on the motherboard other parts cant operate.

Its like putting petrol into a car with no engine it wont start.

Hello... your pin and socket connections were loose causing them to overheat and oxidize, You can scrape/brush them clean agian, and then squeeze, pinch/adjust the socket pin smaller for a tighter connection... Replacement sockets/Pins could be purchased for refitting/re-wiring, if you are so inclined.

Its a plastic clip in connector with metal on the inside. Im assuming I will have to buy a new connector?
I'm not exactly sure where to buy parts like this nor do I have part numbers or anything.

Could you point me in the right direction?

Hello... yes I will... Post a picture of the connector and MB connection... Pins/sockets can be removed, they have a simple metal tang, as part of the pin/socket, by pushing them in with a small tool, push the wire in a little, and then back out of the housing, to free the metal tang and connection... measuring the length and diameter, a typical replacement can be bought... the MB Power connectors can be re-soldered and replaced easily with the proper tool and effort.
