Sapphire Tech HD7750 Low Profile No sound over HDMI

Hi guys,

I am having problems with sound over HDMI. I have tried Catalyst Manager 12.7, 12.8, 12.9, 13.1 and 13.10 and 13.14. None of these seem to get HDMI sound working.

I have even tried Realtek AMD sound driver still nothing.

The sound used to work when I was running Windows XP 32bit.

I have now upgraded to Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and having problems with it.

I have a Samsung 32LD450 TV.

ok as long as your drivers are installed for the card it will work, right click the sound icon and hit playback devices, make sure hdmi is being detected and enabled, set it as the default device for audio and now it should be working

This is what is being shown in Playback Devices.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the TV.

Did the driver installation report come back OK? You may want to try re-installing Catalyst with the Custom option checked. One thing to note is you will be given a list of driver options to physically check off yourself. Make sure you press 'Select All' even if the boxes are already checked.
I had to do this after 'Driver Installation Failed'.
Second go it all worked

Yes I always choose custom installation.

The installation report says everything was successfully installed.

I made sure to turn the Anti Virus off to make sure nothing is blocked when the installation takes places.

I have also turned off UAC.

Have you tried disabling your onboard sound in BIOS and choosing the AMD as default?

Yes I have already disabled the onboard sound... I cannot set AMD as default in Bios as its a Dell OEM motherboard.

do you have another hdmi cable to try for the heck of it?

what motherboard are you running?

I would say do a chipset update and download the audio driver from there, but that should not have anything to do with the hdmi not working from the graphics card

I have updated my Bios, I have updated my chipset still HDMI audio is not working. I have tried a different HDMI cable as well.

I am running a Dell 745 PC with Q6600 CPU
