help overclocking first time

i have the crosshair v formula z. with AMD 6300 FX Cpu. I got the corsair hydro 50 for the cpu water cooler and I got the nzxt phantom 820 case with 2 additional fans

current cpu speed 3500mhz
memory frequency 1333mhz but I have crosshair vengeance ddr3 8gb 2133mhz
not sure what I should change to for best performance could anyone help me please
graphics card I got the xfx r9 270x radeon

Go ahead and overclock your CPU to maybe 4.0, see what kind of temps you're getting, if you average under 50-60c on full load, go ahead and keep the overclock. As long as the CPU stays under 70c you will be fine, it can go upto 90c but you don't want to stretch it, you want to be in a reasonable window that will actually keep it cool, not just keep it from melting down.
