workgroup change for win8 pro

hi, i have a company laptop that has nice gpu and i want to use it to play games. but it is registered with a workgroup network. it got antivirus etc..etc..wont let me do anything.

i heard that we can bring it under a win server and create active directory and grant all persimmons ? is it possible. and how?

No no no no no. You don't need to do any of that.
Enable the hidden administrator account and install all of your games on there.
Open a command line and enter: net user administrator /active:yes

okay.. will try it later and let you know what happened. have to wait till the weekend.
and if this solves the problem, what if i connect it back to the workgroup domain network. i think the policies will be forced again.

yes true..i created my user account. then the admin had installed the apps.

first attempt failed , next i re run it as admin and it was successful..
