I am trying to get a good gaming rig on a budget. I know enough to have sorted through a bunch of options and come down to a final two. I am just now looking for some opinions on which route I should go with my two choices. I have built my own cpu before years ago and I just really do not want to deal with it again, so please don't advise me to take that route =).

1. http://
-Intel Core i7 4770(3.40GHz)
8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity
Windows 8.1 64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
$980

2. http://
-AMD FX-3320 3.50GHz
8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity
Windows 8 64-Bit
ATI Radeon HD 7850
$750

I checked the GPU and CPU ratings at cpu/gpuboss and the intel comes out ahead as expected, but the AMD chip is not bad at all (http://). The two graphics cards actually come out pretty comparable (http://).

Thus, do you guys think the first option is worth the extra $200+ bucks? I am leaning towards no. Overall, do these seem like good deals for the price? Is it worth spending another $100-$200 for more ram and a better brand name (ASUS etc)?

Thanks!

EDIT: Found this Asus as well http://

I will put my honest opion here. I do not like iBuyPower. I have seen too many issues with them from horrible construction, I had one brand new come into a shop I worked at where they used coarse thread screws on fine thread standoffs for the motherboard so they were not sitting properly and the motherboard was not secure and I have had multiple versions water cooling fail within a year.

The 4770 will be better in the long run performance wise, Intel has a better overall core architecture.

I prefer ATI/AMD GPUs but either is fine these days as they will get the job done.

And yes it is worth getting an Asus desktop if you can. I have had much better results from them vs other OEMs plus they use their own motherboards in their systems...

To be honest build it yourself or get some to do it for you. i mean id do it for you but your probably in a different country so xD

between these two go for the amd. The intel 4770k isnt needed for gaming and the 8320 amd chip will be fine.

with pc today there a balance between cost and performance. a lot of times parts like the 4770 are over kill if your looking for a gaming rig and other use. the 4770 cpu is more of high end cpu for people that do video editing or cad. when the hyper-threading cpu comes in. for the money the 8000 cpu not bad but if your a hard core gamer the intel cpus will have a slightly better frame rate in games over amd. the best gpu for the money is the 270x and 280x. right now in a few weeksd nvidia 800 line of cards are dropping. after the nda is dropped and the cards are tested they may be a better buy.

The 280X is horrible right now due to the Litecoiners. Its $420 bucks for a 280X when it should be $300. NVidia is not in that situation since their GPUs suck for crypto-currencies.

Would you choose an Asus with a GT series gpu over those I have shown? For example: http://

That is probably the best bang for the buck. The GTX760 would be better overall for gaming but if you only plan light gaming at 1080p the GT650 can work. 16GB of RAM wont benefit games much and a i7 is not much better than a i5 for the majority of games.

I would say either the one I linked or the last one you linked with a GTX650 are good choices but remember this, the GTX760 is a rebadged and bit higher clocked GTX670 so it is a massive performance upgrade over a GT650.
