I'm getting around 10 fps on Metro: Last Light.

PC Specs:
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 280x
CPU: AMD FX 8320
RAM: Corsair Vengence 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Why isn't it running smoothly??

(P.S. I went on those websites that determine if you can run a game or not, and apparently i should be able to on max settings. I am struggling on low settings!!)

Download latest graphic drivers from AMD and install it.
Also update your game if there are any patches.

I have the latest drivers. I have only just bought the game so it must be fully updated. Any other advice??

My copy is on Steam, so it's always fully updated, if you have the retail version you may need to update manually.
Only use the WHQL drivers if you're troubleshooting or you could end up substituting one problem for another.
Go to the Gameplay options and disable Advanced PhysX, it is enabled by default and crushes the framerate on AMD cards-which is probably the problem.
And leave SSAA off, it also hammers the frame rate.

Turned out PhysX was enabled in a different menu, Now its running perfect on very high. Thanks
