I am building my own computer and hoping that my research has gone in the right direction for the best setup in my range. I am spending about $1,300, so I hope this will work right together and be okay for a quality gaming computer.

I'd really recommend more RAM if you're gonna be gaming on that, at least 8GB.

I have multiple 4-8GB ram sticks LOL. That is just the base amount I am buying to match my other newer RAM sticks.

1. Okay, here are my selections of motherboards:
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AMD 970 ATX w/ GbLAN, 2 Gen2 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1, 2 PCI
GIGABYTE 970A-DS3P AMD 970 ATX w/ Ultra Durable 4 Classic, On/Off Charge, GbLAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 2 PCI
GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990 ATX w/ Ultra Durable 3, On/Off Charge GbLAN, 4 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1, 1 PCI
ASRock 990FX Extreme9 AMD 990 ATX w/ UEFI Bios, Xfast 555, THX TruStudio Audio, Intel GbLAN, 4 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AMD 990 ATX w/ UEFI Bios, ROG Connect, SupremeFX III Audio, Intel GbLAN, 4 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1
MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 AMD 990 ATX w/ Winki 3 OC Genie, GbLAN, 4 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1, 1 PCI
2. My case is 120mm water coolant supported if I want to use that instead later.

3. My ram sticks now are: (2x) Ballistix 1333MGz(4GB) and (2x) Crucial 1333MGz(4GB), both DDR3. I want to stick to either Ballistix or Crucial and the 2 new ones coming in to start at 16GB. Are either or both supported?

3. okay for ram ill start with that mhz don't matter its the voltage rating and cycles/ refresh rate that matter if they dont match your going to get bsod. You can mix and match mhz your ram stick will just get bottlenecked to the lowest mhz dimm.
2. ah okay nvm then :p

1.

GA-970A-DS3P will work fine for you the cpu is suported :)

1. Are you sure LOL. Want to be able to use that CPU.
3. I am not really sure what the cycles/refresh rate are. They worked fine on my old computer (HP pavilion p7 1126s, totaled to 16GB RAM.) If anything, I can upgrade the RAM again since this motherboard supports 32GB.

1. yes im sure i checked just for you :)

3. if you dont know about cycle rates and voltages don't mix and match ram. seriously unless you've won a lottery or something your not going to be lucky and your just going to get bsod.

Noticed on the Ballistick it says 16FMR, and 1.5V. There are 2 of them. I have 16FMR on the Crucial, but no volts measurement.

eh :/  you might be better off just buying 8 gb of new ram. unless you want to take the risk your choice,

You can undervolt your ram in bios to match the other sticks. but i myself dont know how to do that but i know you can.

The 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz Dual Channel Memory, ADATA XPG V2 has the same voltage as the ballistix, and the same latency of 9-9-9-24. Are those 2 sticks compatible with the Ballistix.
