How To Set Up My Digital Flat-Panel Display?

After having all sorts of issues getting my PC up and running (this being my first build ever), I am finally ready to start gaming. However, I still need to set up my display. I plan on using my flat screen TV as a monitor, running a dual screen setup in duplication. I can then turn off my traditional monitor and play from my TV.

However, a couple questions. First, will this display setup draw any extra resources from my PC? Should I switch to a single screen setup when gaming? Secondly, in the Catalyst Control Center, should I enable GPU scaling? Is it a problem if my TV can only scale image to full panel size, instead of maintaining aspect ratios?

Thanks.

1. It will barely consume any extra resources, assuming you're still only gaming on one monitor. Your GPU idle temps will probably rise, but this is normal and nothing to worry about. You don't need to switch to a single monitor when gaming.

2. I prefer to leave scaling to the GPU. It's not a problem unless you don't like how the TV handles it.

Ok, thanks. I just set up my display, and I am having one problem. For some reason, my HDMI audio isn't available. Any idea why this might be?

Oddly enough, it displays the HDMI audio as "not plugged in". I'm having no issues with optical, any idea why audio wouldn't be functioning?
