New build ALL same HW.
After build, my MB sees the 2nd 500 gb WD SATA drive in the BIOS, however, Win7 64b does not see/recognize 2nd HDD.

I have updated the BIOS. I have looked for any SATA specific drivers, but do not see any.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mac

I found the drive in Disk Mgmt. However, it was not labled or anything. I gave it a 'simple' something... setting.

Currently, it is set as Drive E: healthy (Primary partition) 465 gb RAW. It is listed as empty as it has no format.
How can I get back the format or partitions that it had prior to my Deleting the drive format?

I am not an HDD partition expert by any means.

I have been looking at Recuva and Puran File Recovery as possible tools to recover the format of the HDD or just all the files.
It should be just the directory links or what ever that I deleted. Can I simply or easily, or with a lot of tears and frustration repair or replace that file structure so that the drive partition or format or what ever is back and all my files are again connected?

Yes, I want the info on it. The C: HDD and the E: HDD were my only current original file backups. I was rebuilding C: with win7 and accidentally selected format or delete drive for E: when I was in the install for my C: rebuild. Don't know what I was thinking. usually, I would go in and manually/physically disconnect my E: when I was doing something like that as this is only current backup. I have business docs, business plans, and family photos (including and most important of all, my deceased 7 year old daughter) that I can NOT loose.

I am in the process of post scan and recovery of the HDD E: files right now with Puran File Recovery and it appears to be working. Scan took hours and revovery will probably take another hour or two as I just started it.

I also got Recuva from Piriform that should work well too if Puran FR does not get it all. Just so darn slow and I have a horrible NW slow/disconnect that hit my computers/router ever since I messed with a home group. grrrrr!

Was finally able to get the Drive connected/replaced. Unplugged the working C: and then booted up with Win7 DVD in optical drive. Went through repair (again) and was this time able to repair the missing/deleted partition. So now have the drive back.

Now I just need to replace my router that is causing me problems...

Thanks for the help.
