Laptop Won't Connect via Wi-Fi; I've tried everything I've found
I have a Dell Studio 1555 with a Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN as the wireless adapter.
A few days ago I was browsing the internet when my internet just stopped working. At first it said it was connected to the network, but had to internet access, and then it just dropped out. Repeated attempts at rejoining the network has failed with a message popping up "Windows was unable to connect to (my network name)".
Things I've tried to remedy this:
-System Restore to before the problem occurred
-Restarting computer (at least x3)
-Resetting router (x2)
-Updating Driver (x3)
-Deactivating security software
-Deactivating/changing security on network
-Physically moving laptop closer to router
-Checking automatic IP acquisition AND creating manual one to connect to
To note, I am posting this using said computer. A wired connection via Ethernet cord works, which is plugged into a wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2) that is connected into my modem. Curiously enough, when I tried connecting to a friend's network, it would connect for a few moments as it started up (1-5 minutes) but ultimately lose internet access and completely disconnect again, meaning this is isolated to my computer.
Thanks for any help!
