I have accidentally ordered a 1155 socket mobo for my processor which is 1150 (silly me).

I am looking for a motherboard of (ideally equivalent price) and same sort of performance if not better than the MSI Z77A-G45 Motherboard which was my original choice before I realized it was not compatible.

I will be using this pc for extreme gaming and recording videos / video editing.

Any replies will be appreciated.

I don't need anything too fancy with extensive features that I won't be likely to use, just has to play games well / be good for modest overclocking and recording.

Cheers guys.

Z87 board has the same features so really what is your budget?

i can wholeheartedly recommend the z87x d3h. I'm currently running it with the exact same processor at 4.4 ghz on an h80i as secondary system and there are no problems whatsoever.

Ideally no more than £100 - around that mark.

any z87 chipset mobo from a renowned manufacturer should fit your needs. i dont have any experience with oc genie, but if it works similar to the gigabyte or asus tools you will be fine.
