I got a GTX770 lightning for christmas as I'd heard some really good things about it but when I launched battlefield 4, which is what I primarily bought the card for, i wasn't even able to achieve a constant 60fps on low settings. is there anything I could do to improve it or do you think I should try and exchange it for an AMD card.

My rig:
CPU: AMD phenom ii x4 @ 4GHz
RAM: 8GB corsair vengeance 1333MHz
Motherboard: Asus sabertooth 990fx
PSU: OCZ Modxstream 600w
GPU: Nvidia geforce GTX770 Lightning

Any help is really appreciated, thanks

BF3 is very cpu dependent and you're cpu isn't that good. You could get a new cpu to get better performance

Thanks for replying. I could possibly get a new CPU a bit later but Would I see a bigger performance increase if I got a new AMD card instead like the r9 290 or 280x?

You won't see a viable performance gain with either of those. The cpu will hold those back just as much. If you get a 8320 ($160) you'll get more than 60fps most if not all of the time.

My bad, I thought you were talking about BF3 not BF4. The CPU is even worse for BF4 so you should really upgrade it

But the 770 nor the 280x will give you more than 60 all the time on ultra

You can always try the DX Fix. Its something that may work now and not require a hardware upgrade.

"Ive heard that this works for some people. But alot of people seem to STILL be experiencing this issue.

*Possible Fix*
Go to the HDD that your BF4 is isntalled. For me its (E: ) / If you have one HDD, Yours will be (C: ) / X86 for 64bit OS / Program Files for 32bit

Go to Computer / E / Program Files (x86) / Origin Games / Battlefield 4 / _Installer / Directx / redist / and run DXSETUP

Might work, Might not?
