Hi, I have a budget of £250-300, and I would be grateful for some assistance in helping me choose what to upgrade.

My system:
CPU: i5 2500K
GPU: Nvidia GTX 560TI 1gb ram
RAM: 8GB
Windows 7
Motherboard: Asrock extreme3 gen3
PSU: Antec 900w ... not entirely sure why I have a 900w

1tb hdd
120gb ssd

My monitor is an old Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW

All I use the system for is gaming.

I would probably get a second or better graphics card because for gaming this is what your pc will generally use, seeing as you have 900w you have many possibilities open to you within the overclocking factor, you could probebly get a MSI lightnig which i have heard people getting a massive 30% overclock.

Your CPU, MOBO and ram are fine, I would not recommend sli 580, go with a GTX 770 they are around £265 or a Gtx 780 for about £375
An i5 2500k will not bottleneck even with a 780 so don't worry about it

If I was to go with a GPU with a budget of £200 just for this because I think I need a new monitor what would you then recommend?

That sounds like the best option, I always recommend getting the best GPU you can fit at the time in your budget. Have fun gaming!
