I installed windows Xp but it turns out I had a funky stick of ram! Should I redo it or should the install be fine?

Solution
Get Windows 8.1, it has our beloved start button. It's the most up-to-date OS out there and I would personally recommend it.

Install something a bit more modern.. XP goes end of life April 8th 2014... with no more security patches from MS.. and hackers waiting to release malware after that date.. since they know XP wont be fixed. so you really need to get a more modern version of windows.. one that is supported for more than a few months.

Cheers

don't be fooled it has a "start button".. but it still does not have the Start menu that everyone wants..
i.e. the new start button does some things.. like link to control panel.. but does NOT have the menu of all programs so you can start them from there.. you still have to go back to metro for that..
IMHO 8.1 like 8 still falls between 2 stools and is not as good as 7 for a pure desktop OS..... if you have mouse/key/screen (with no touch).. Win 7 is best.... if you have tablet/touch.. jury still out...(I defy anyone to say they can work well with an excel sheet in touch mode).

Cheers

WTF.. I do all the work and you give "best answer" to a muppet because he latches on and recommends 8.1?
Jez... Tough audience

get over it, it happens. but if you're here for best answer you're not getting the point of these forums.
