So basically, I was attempting to play a game as ever... Started to glitch, random colours, artefacts, monitor switched on and off, Nvidia reported driver issues in the tray and then eventually black screen and then the PC restart. The computer wouldn't boot. I kept trying and eventually it got past the windows logo only to BSOD.
So I booted in Safe mode, all was working well. The BSOD error pointed to the Nvidia drivers. So i figured lemme uninstall the graphics driver and reboot normally. It was something along the lines of nvlddmkm.sys.
That actually worked, I was able to boot onto the desktop without the GFX driver installed. As soon as I re-installed the driver and reboot, i get the same problems again. Let it be said that on a few occasions it'll manage to get to the desktop only to present some minor artefacting on the windows and either BSOD/Black Screen/Fail to Boot.
It sounds to me the graphics card is dead, and only allows to work in basic safe mode... I just needed to confirm if this is indeed the GFX card or not. Its a Nvidia GTX 570 on win7. I have tried reinstalling windows fresh, same issues. I have tried memory tests, no issues.
