So I have the majority of my movie collection backed up onto a 2TB, desktop, external hard drive. It is handy to have as long as I am home but for travel I wanted something more portable and preferably flash memory. I found an amazing deal on 500GB thumb drives and bought a few of them. I went to transfer my movies over and the transfer speeds are just terrible. Average speeds of 2MBps, and a max of 5MBps ( no change in speeds when formatting in NTFS, or optimizing for performance). I can deal with that part, but my issue is that whenever I copy the movies over it seems to have issues with playback on 98% of the movies. They do not load up in any player I have, even if I copy the file back to the computer. I have used both windows version of file transfer and Tera copy with both drag and drop and copy + paste.
The files work fine in both my external HD's, Just the flash drives that seem to have problems. So far my only solution has been to move each file individually. With each file being 1-4GB, and there being over 250 titles, this will be more of a hassle than it is worth. I would think the transfer speed was causing issues but that should affect all the files not just the majority. Any help here would be much appreciated!
