So recently I upgraded my graphics card from at AMD radeon HD 7770 to the new AMD radeon R9 270x. and for the first day or two of it running in my machine it would play games like Borderlands 2, Warframe, and skyrim at the highest settings just fine. However just recently, once i start up a game and start playing about 15-20 minutes after playing i get a massive fps drop from the upper 70-80 fps down to low 10-15 fps I have gone around installing drivers and such to try and fix the problem. But to no avail was I able to fix the problem. I went to AMD's website and downloaded the "AMDdriverdownloader" so that it would detect my card and figure out which driver i might or might not be missing. however when I load up the program it says "We were unable to find your product or OS". I went around looking for answers and such and I didnt want to attempt any of the solutions that were given for the sake of my PC. has anyone had any simlar problems when they got their new Graphics card?

For those who might be wondering what my specs are here they are:

(played borderlands 2 btw) well im not really sure how to work the MSI afterburner when i was looking at the setting and such but i pulled up the graphs that are attached to it and at the points where i got fps drops i saw a yellow line on the graph under one of the CPU usage graphs there was a small yellow line and then it dropped and was continue to function as normal. then later there would be another yellow line at the same time i would get the frame rate issue.
I would assume this is illustrating the overheating and throttling?

I also decided to boot up Warframe and after playing I quickly screenshot the graph. I dont know if this is what you were looking for to see if it is throttling but its the first thing that caught my eye

Is this what you were talking about when you mentioned throttling?

temps for the Gpu are as follows:
highest temp the card ever went during play was 71 degrees Celsius
Started a steady climb beginning at 35 degrees Celsius once it hit 51 degrees it then took a quick drop a couple degrees back down to 44 degrees Celsius then jumps back for 49 degrees and keeps climbing (I think that was because I alt+tab'ed the game and was checking something) after that it stayed in 68-71 degree Celsius range for the remainder for the time i played.

Well thanks anyway on your opinion ive been going to other forums and seeing if anyone else might know anything so far not much ive tried re-installing some drivers and such, also was doing some research and it could be my cpu from what ive read on a lot of other pages. its Probably my Cpu just reaching temps it doesnt like so i might just have to remove the heat sink and reapply some thremal paste but before i do that im going to do some more research on other websites

Download HWmonitor and run Prime95 for an hour, while recording your temperatures. It is possible the extra heat and reduced airflow from a bigger card could increase CPU temperatures. Monitor your CPU temps through HWmonitor and stress-test it with Prime95.
