If you have family or friends who has a Windows Vista disc, you are able to wipe your computer to the default settings and start fresh, if you do not have the disc, you are unable to perform this kind of task. Also, with the format it does still leave traces of what you have used the computer for however is not visible to the user. If you just want to delete files, history or just make the computer run faster then you should run the Disk Cleanup and the Disk Defragmentor.

Hello, sorry for the delayed response, I had a few technical problems, all is sorted though now :D Anyway, back to your question, if you do not have the Windows Disk, I suppose you could try what RealBeast has posted but this means that you will not have anything on the hard drive and your computer WILL NOT boot up until you purchase an operating system (i.e: Windows 7, 8.1, Windows Server 2008, ect...) Personally, I wouldn't advise "Nuking" the Hard Drive.

Again, as I have already posted, you can try that however I wouldn't recommend it if you do not have another Operating System Disk (Such as Windows Vista or Windows 7) because Real\beast has already said, it only wipes the Hard Drive, they didn't mention anything about re-installing the Operating System :/

You need an install disk or you need to borrow or buy one, there is nothing that you can do if you don't have the install disk. Wiping the drive is a trivial matter with DBAN, your problem is that you have no install media. If it was Windows 7 you could get a disk image that would work with your activation key, but you have Vista and there are no Vista images available.
