What type of RAM card do I need?

I plan on getting 16 gigabytes worth, which setup would be most efficient? 2x8g, 1x16g, or 4x4g. My motherboard is an Asus M2A-VM. My operating system is 64 bit and my CPU is an AMD Phenom II X4 945 95 watt.

That board only supports up to 8GB of DDR2 ram. I'd suggest getting a new board that supports DDR3 and then get ram
