hi
I've recently finished the build of my first pc.It consists of;
Intel I3 3220 cpu
MSI H61 P20 G3 motherboard
Gigabyte 450w 80 plus bronze certified psu
Patriot 4gb 1333mhz ram [1 stick]
Raidmax Cobra case
Seagate Barracuda 1tb hdd

What I want to know is what cheap upgrades I can do without changing the cpu.Like can I add a 2gb ram stick or must it be 4gb of the same brand?Will faster ram like 1600mhz make a difference?Is my psu sufficient if I want to add a gpu like an HD7750 or 7770?Will I see a difference if I use a SSD even if its connected on SATA2?

I'm new to the whole pc thing but the bug has bit me.The pc is mainly used for streaming videos and music,playing the occasional game etc

I'd Highly Suggest that you use a 2nd 4GB stick of the same RAM, Also if you put a 2nd stick of 1600Mhz RAM in with the 1333 Mhz RAM I believe it will clock down to 1333mhz.

Your PSU should be fine with the 7770 and there will be a performance decrease if you connect a SSD to SATA2

If your going to be replacing 4GB of 1333mhz for 4GB of 1600mhz there is completely no point.

I'd just suggest buying another 4GB stick of the same 1333Mhz RAM which would be completely fine and it would save you some money although if you really wanted to you could spend extra on 8GB of 1600Mhz but there is no point.

Don't think i'll be jumping on the DDR4 bandwagon when it comes out. Will be to expensive. Will Intel Haswell support DDR4 or do we have to wait for the next gen?

I don't think anyone really knows yet, I guess we will have to wait and see.
