I just installed my new graphics card today and it came with a piece of software called EVGA Precision. I was wondering if anybody experienced with it could tell me if it's even necessary to use at all since my card is the superclocked version which should be overclocked right out of the box. My cards info is as follows:

Base Clock: 1072MHz
Boost Clock: 1137MHz
Memory Clock: 6008MHz Effective
CUDA Cores: 960
2048MB GDDR5, 192 Bit

So in the program, the base clock and boost clock are shown to reflect what was advertised. If I am able to overclock it further, what values should I set in the program that will enhance the performance without damaging my card or otherwise being dangerous?

It's not necessary, but you can use it to further overclock the card.

You overclock by increasing the clock speeds. There is no simple overclock guaranteed to work on all cards. Some are able to go higher while others become unstable or outright crash with only a small boost. It's like chocolate chip cookies; some are loaded and some are barren.

That was the greatest analogy I have ever heard, especially since Im eating cookies.
