I recently RMA'd an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z for replacement. My SSD boot drive has an installed copy of Windows 8.1 that was working with the motherboard before I sent it out. Will my copy of Windows work with the new motherboard (same model but different serial number). Will the OS think the computer does not belong to me and void my windows product key/registration?

It should be fine mate. It won't happen as in, your product key won't be voided. And remmember, since you purchased the copy of Windows, you also have Microsoft Support, which is always nice.

Nothing bad is going to happen..... It will be fine. You wont be facing any problem either with windows nor with drivers or with any programs installed.
