R9 280x Matrix cooling improvement

Hello guys, and Happy new year!

Last night I changed the TIM on my GPU with the default one I received from my CM 212 EVO CPU cooler.
I`m not sure if that one conducts electrycity, so I`m thinking of also buying some Arctic Cooling MX-4 for improved cooling.

Also, I need to mention that I have a SFF using a Silverstone SUGO SG09, and just bought two cheap 80mm fans and mounted them directly in flont on the GPU. However last night I noticed that most of the air pushed by them goes in the metal front of the GPU, and not in the open spaces of the card.
This made me think of upgrading the fans to 92mm Noctua`s of 14 mm width, as the currect fans are 25mm width, and almost touching the GPU.

Now, before I changed the TIM, I would get over 85 degrees Celsius in Furmark withing 1 minute of Burn test.
After the TIM was replaced, the card didn`t go over 84 in over 10 minutes.

My question is: Is it worth to buy new TIM and new fans, or will the paste I have now improve in performance once the curing period passes?
The price for TIM + 2 Noctua`s in the shops here will be around 50$.

Thanks a lot for your reply, and all the best in the new year!

dont get all pissy you are asking questions noone may know the answers too. Thermal paste once "broken in" isnt going to make a HUGE difference. A few degrees C maybe. Changing the stock cooler for another air cooled one isnt the smartest idea. The smarter thing to do would have been to replace the stock thermal paste and create a custom fan profile. Thats probably another reason noone replied to this post. You buy a card like the matrix then destroy it and put another air cooler on it? wtf? IF anything liquid cooling would have been the way to go. I'd put the stock cooler BACK on with fresh thermal paste and a custom fan profile.

1. I`m not "pissy" :D
2. Maybe I wrote it wrong, or maybe you wanted to read it wrong, but the GPU has the same cooler, only new TIM.
3. The fans I was reffering to are case fans, that are mounted right in front of the GPU. If you google the case, you can see the mounts.

I was just curious if I would get lower temps with better paste and fans, and if it was worth it for 50$.

Higher RPM fans are going to move more air so more cool air inside your case the better. Usually the stock thermal paste is fine but if you want to replace it you can. May only result in minimal results. Just create a custom fan profile and call it a day with better case fans i say.

I wanted it deleted, as I wasn`t counting on an answer. You can still delete it, since I haven`t seen anywhere temp differences from TIM after curating period, so I`ve lost my hope on getting any answer.

@azzazel, actually the default thermal paste that was in the GPU looked pretty bad, and really uneven. Also, the cooler came off the board as soon as I unscrewed it, which was not tipical from the videos I checked regarding TIM replacement on GPU`s.
If you want I can send you some pics with it when I get home.
